 A Message from Our Board President

Dear friends,

Last month was an emotional time for the Mockingbird team as we celebrated the accomplishments of our founder, Jim Theofelis, and wished him well in his next assignment. Before hiring our next Executive Director, the Board of Directors has determined the organization will be served best by having professional interim leadership.

We are excited to announce that Laura Pierce has joined us as The Mockingbird Society's Interim Executive Director. Laura comes to us highly recommended. Over the past 17 years, she has been an excellent interim leader and organizational consultant for many local nonprofits. And we look forward to working with Laura to further strengthen the organization and to identify the next, right leader for Mockingbird. Please join me in welcoming Laura to the Mockingbird team.

During this time of transition, we will remain steady and laser-focused on improving foster care and ending youth homelessness. Thank you for your continued, unwavering support of our mission.

A Message from Our Interim Executive Director

Dear Mockingbird Community,

The Mockingbird Society is a powerful, vibrant organization. I'm excited to join the team here to improve foster care and end youth homelessness.

This is the ninth time I have stepped into an interim executive director role. I find it rewarding to help nonprofit organizations navigate leadership transitions. My goal is to leave the organizations I serve in a stronger position than when I started. I look forward to setting up Mockingbird and its future leader for continued success.

It is my pleasure to be working with all of you as we support foster parents and help children and youth prosper.
