We Stand in Solidarity: Their Lives Mattered

Mockingbird remains committed to leveraging our platform to disrupt the systemic and structural racism in the foster care and youth homelessness response systems. We know Black children are 2.2 times and Native American children are 2.9 times more likely to be placed into foster care than white children; Black youth are 6 times more likely and Native American youth twice as likely to become homeless than white youth.

We will work even harder towards justice and equity in these systems, ensuring that our policies are informed by those disproportionately impacted by them. And that outcomes for young people and families who experience these systems are not predictable based on race.
