Youth Working Together for a World-Class Foster Care System
By Mandy Urwiler, Senior Youth Network Representative
December 7th - 9th was a weekend of relationship building for Mockingbird staff and youth and alumni from Facing Foster Care in Alaska, an organization that is very similar to The Mockingbird Society, only based in Alaska. The weekend consisted of a Peer Technical Assistance program made possible by Casey Family Programs. All six chapters of the Mockingbird Youth Network were represented, joining youth from Alaska in sharing ideas, goals and passions in our collective effort to build a world-class foster care system. The weekend was a huge success, with both organizations learning a whole lot from one another. Thank you to Casey Family Programs for hosting this event and thanks to Facing Foster Care in Alaska for coming to Seattle and sharing your expertise with us! We hope to see you all again soon!
