Olympia Chapter Hosts Local Legislators

On Wednesday the 6th, our Mockingbird Youth Network's Olympia Chapter welcomed local State Representatives Drew MacEwen and Dean Takko, along with staff from Representatives Chris Reykdal and Sharon Wylie to their monthly chapter meeting.

Youth provided the special guests with an introduction to The Mockingbird Society and the Mockingbird Youth Network, while educating them on the Network's Advocacy Agenda for 2013. These issues include the Extended Foster Care program, sibling visits, family connections and the overmedication of youth in foster care. For more information on our advocacy agenda, click here.

We would like to thank our guests, especially Representatives MacEwen and Takko, for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with our youth. We look forward to continuing to work with them during the 2013 legislative session.
